COVID- 19- AIR POLLUTION IS DECREASING

As the virus is moving from one country to other there is a sharp decrease in the rate of air pollution.
The main reason for this is the curfews and lockdowns established in many countries. News agencies like FOX 2 Detroit , Euronews and Daily Mail has also reported this. Due to the lockdown cars and other vehicles are not allowed to drive for unnecessary reasons. Public buses, trains, metros, and even flights has stopped working for a temporary period of time. In India the lockdown remains for 21 days. Because of this the atmosphere is becoming clear once again. Based on data and maps provided by NASA’s Earth Observatory, levels of nitrous dioxide, or NO2, decreased significantly in the Wuhan region from January through February.  NASA noted how decreases in air pollutants are common during Lunar New Year celebrations, “where businesses and factories close from the last week in January into early February to celebrate the festival.” “I am not surprised because many cities nationwide have taken measures to minimize spread of the virus,” said Fei Liu, an air quality researcher at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, when speaking on the drop in NO2 levels. A similar pollution drop is now occurring in the United States, where commerce has slowed and residents in major metropolitan areas remain under stay-at-home orders.

While any resumption is being modelled on matches occurring behind closed doors, guiding the decision-making is the overriding principle that the National Health Service’s ability to treat those with Covid-19 should not be compromised and that it has to be at ease with the top-flight restart...
